Mike_2013-04-19_12-29-40_ _DSC5283Mike has extensive experience dealing with government, corporate and agency brands across Africa in supplying media and brand intelligence, with concrete experience in driving bottom-line business growth and achieving sales targets.

Mike also has extensive technical experience, having managed and led the technical development of dozens of projects over his career. Mike also has a fundamental understanding of big data analytics platforms and their operational execution.

Mike founded Fuseware in 2009, which grew into a well-known brand and an emergent market leader in social media analytics and media monitoring. Having developed the Fuseware brand into an authoritative player in the local analytics industry, Fuseware was acquired by Ornico Group in May 2015.

Listed in the Top 200 Young South Africans by Mail and Guardian and in the Media’s Top 40 under 40 in 2014 and 2015, Mike’s experience involves working with media and technology in its various forms to spearhead innovation and productivity in his organizations and the broader industry. Mike is currently leading the IAB SA’s committee on digital measurement to enhance the standards of digital reporting and measurement in the region.

Mike co-manages the annual release of South Africa’s official social media landscape report with technologist Arthur Goldstuck. Agencies and brands use this report to help understand the unfolding digital landscape, key trends and strategic insights.

Mike is also a speaker and writer, having spoken on Radio 702, 567 Cape Talk, CNBC Africa, Power FM, Summit TV, SABC News and others. Mike also writes thought leadership articles for publications like IT Web, BizCommunity and Business Tech magazine.
